Samantha's lifelong dedication to movement and competitive performance began at an early age. Involved in multiple sports, her passion heavily resided with a ball at her feet. Reaching elite levels in women's soccer, Sami found herself playing for MacEwan University. Over her distinguished five-year career, she captained her team to a historic U SPORTS national championship, a first for the institution. Drawing from this student-athlete experience, it was evident that the mind plays an indispensable role in consistently achieving peak performance.

Over the past several years, Samantha has immersed herself within the field of sport psychology personally, educationally, and professionally. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Distinction) at MacEwan University and a Master of Science in Sport and Performance Psychology (with Applied Practice; Distinction) at University of Western States.

As the founder of Rise Above Mental Performance, Samantha is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC) – the only nationally accredited credential for mental performance professionals in North America. To date, she has supported individuals from over fifteen different sport and performance fields. Sami specializes in working with youth athletes – as early as ten years old – helping them build the mental skills that carry through every stage of their athletic journey. Whether the goal is playing university sport, going professional, or simply keeping a lifelong passion alive, once Samantha is in an athlete's corner, she's always in their corner.
