FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I know if mental performance training is for me?
You don't need to have a breaking point to benefit from this. Many athletes we work with aren't fixing something broken — they're sharpening something that's already working. If you're willing to reflect honestly, show up consistently, and actually invest in getting better, that's the only requirement. Just a willingness to do the work.
What is the difference between what we do versus a psychologist?
Our services are not clinically-based, but performance-based. Simply put, we do not provide diagnoses or deal with clinical issues (e.g., eating disorders, substance abuse, suicidal ideation). In the event that these situations present themselves, we will refer the athlete to a licensed mental health professional.
Is mental performance training only for athletes?
Absolutely not! Anyone performing under pressure — a classroom, an operating room, a boardroom, a stage — is working with the same mental skills athletes are. The setting changes. The skills don't.
Are mental performance sessions covered by insurance?
Not as a medical benefit — we're not registered psychologists, so it doesn't fall under that specific coverage. Some plans do cover it as a wellness expense though, similar to a personal trainer, so it's worth checking out.
